License Number Disclosure Effective Today! (July 1, 2009)
Starting today, July 1, 2009, Business and Professions Code 10140.6 is now in effect. This amendment provides new disclosure requirements for real estate licensees (salespersons, brokers, etc.). The Department of Real Estate (DRE) license identification number must now be on all “solicitation materials intended to be the first point of contact with consumers.” This of course includes business cards, stationery, websites, brochures, and other marketing material.
As many of you have already noticed, CAR forms now have a place for the DRE license number that is required for real property purchase agreements and other transactions.
